For your consideration, this 1920's era Art Deco 800 Silver Egyptian Revival scarab beetle panel belt. This masterpiece is comprised of rectangular shaped panels with four different cut-out motifs of various scenes which repeat throughout the length of the belt. Each decorative panel is separated by a link depicting a beetle, which Egyptians have long used as a symbol of renewal and rebirth.
The belt fastens with a tubular pin clasp. The reverse side of each panel is stamped with the Egyptian silver hallmark (800 silver). The highly detailed belt measures 27 3/8 inches long and 1 5/16 of an inch wide. Weight: approximately 170 grams. Gold content was tested with a Niton DXL spectral XRF precious metal analyzer. Belt is presented in very good overall condition, shows normal wear for age. (See magnified photos)
